Guidelines for Reviewers
Thank you for agreeing to review a manuscript for the Libyan Journal of Health, Science, and Development (LJHSD). Your expertise and dedication are essential to our commitment to publishing high-quality, impactful research.
The peer-review process at LJHSD is a single-blind review, meaning the reviewers know the authors' identities, but the authors do not know the reviewers'. Your feedback should be constructive, professional, and confidential.
Your Role as a Reviewer
As a reviewer, your primary responsibility is to evaluate a manuscript's scientific merit, originality, and clarity. Your feedback helps the editor decide on a manuscript's suitability for publication. Please consider the following questions during your review:
-
Scientific Soundness: Is the research question clear and well-defined? Are the methods appropriate for the study's objectives? Are the conclusions supported by the results?
-
Originality and Significance: Does the manuscript present novel research or a significant advancement in the field? Does it contribute meaningful knowledge to its discipline?
-
Clarity and Structure: Is the manuscript well-written and easy to understand? Is the structure logical (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion)? Are the tables and figures clear and relevant?
-
Adherence to Guidelines: Does the manuscript follow the journal’s author guidelines, including formatting, citation style, and manuscript length?
Providing Your Feedback
Your review should be submitted through our online system. Please provide two types of feedback:
-
Comments to the Author: This section should include constructive and detailed feedback for the author. Point out strengths and weaknesses and offer specific suggestions for improvement. Avoid any personal or unprofessional remarks.
-
Confidential Comments to the Editor: This is for any private communication to the editor that you do not wish for the author to see. This may include your recommendation (e.g., accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject) and any specific concerns about ethical issues, plagiarism, or potential conflicts of interest.
Timeline and Professionalism
We ask that you complete your review within the specified deadline to ensure a timely publication process for the authors. If you are unable to complete the review on time, please notify the editor as soon as possible.
Your integrity and commitment to fair, unbiased review are highly valued. Thank you for your contribution to the scientific community.
